Following World War II, in a Hungarian village during the summer of 1945, an Orthodox Jewish father and son return home. The community is preparing for the town clerk’s son’s wedding, but a palpable tension hangs in the air. Villagers harbor deep suspicions and anxieties, anticipating potential unrest and fearing reprisal from those who suffered losses during the conflict. The arrival of the father and son stirs up these uncertainties and exposes the fragile peace of the recovering village.
