Wrong Side Raju

Raju Bambani arrives at the scene, stunned, after a speeding car plows through a checkpoint on the outskirts of Ahmedabad, killing two constables and gravely injuring an elderly man, Pritam Parikh. The incident sets off a web of choices, loyalties, and consequences that pull Raju deeper into a case that could ruin his life.

Raju is a driver by day and a bootlegger by night, dreaming of starting his own travel agency with his mentor, Patil. He works for the former lawyer and industrialist, Amitabh Shah, and ferries Tanmay Shah around town, Tanmay Shah, while navigating a growing closeness with Shaily Asher, Shaily Asher. The boyish charm of Tanmay masks a fraught relationship with his father and a troubled partnership with a figure named Mark, while Shaily becomes a light in Raju’s otherwise precarious life.

As Raju shadows Tanmay and Shaily, the younger man’s warning glare and possessive streak push Shaily into a difficult choice. Tanmay’s temper flares when he learns about Raju’s growing bond with Shaily, and he withdraws the loan guarantee that would have helped Raju’s travel agency dreams. Navratri brings them closer in a night of Garba and clandestine decisions, and when Tanmay tearfully orders Shaily to drive away with him, she reluctantly complies while Raju trails on his scooter. The car crash soon follows, and Raju arrives at the scene after the dust has settled.

The investigation that follows unfolds with methodical cruelty. Police near the scene discover Raju’s scooter and the illicit liquor he’s carrying, and they threaten a PASA (Prevention of Anti-Social Activities) case unless he cooperates. Raju claims he arrived late and knows nothing of the crash. In a bid to close the case quickly, the police press for a hefty bribe, and Raju scrambles to gather it. One of the elderly man’s regular customers, Pritam Parikh, becomes a focal point in the case, adding a personal stake to the mounting tension. The investigation takes a dramatic turn when CCTV footage reveals Tanmay driving the car minutes before the accident, a discovery that could implicate the Shah family and complicate Raju’s fragile alibi.

Amitabh Shah tries to tilt the scales by offering a bribe of ₹2 crores to frame Raju, and he also bows to pressure and threats alleged to come from Mark, crossing lines that threaten everyone involved. The case moves to the courtroom, where Parth Parikh, Parth Parikh, the son of Pritam Parikh, steps forward to defend Raju. He challenges the investigation’s integrity and highlights the conspiracy that would have framed an innocent man. The charges are dismissed, and the court orders a reinvestigation, summoning Tanmay, who has vanished.

After the acquittal, the truth begins to unravel in earnest. Raju confesses to Parth that, in the end, it was Shaily who was behind the wheel that fateful night and that Tanmay had died in the crash. To protect Shaily, they orchestrate a plan to have her leave the country, dispose of Tanmay’s body, and threaten Mark to create the impression that Tanmay has absconded. Raju maintains that his actions were driven by self-preservation and a desire to shield those he cares about. The story closes on a bittersweet note as Raju and Shaily reunite in Paris, a fragile solace in a web of fear, loyalty, and moral compromise.

The film uses a tightly wound plot to explore how pressure, love, and fear can push ordinary people toward extraordinary, morally gray decisions. It remains a careful meditation on justice, accountability, and the thin line between protecting someone and enabling crime, all while the characters navigate a landscape where every choice echoes back with consequences. The thriller unfolds with a measured pace, a web of relationships, and a final twist that reframes what was at stake all along.
