Wolf Town

Kyle wakes up with the goal of asking Jess out on a trip. His friend Ben enters his room and they head out to pick up Jess. They soon learn Jess has a boyfriend named Rob, which casts the trip in an awkward light.

On the road to the mine, they pick up Jess and meet Rob. The vibe is tense and awkward as the trio shifts from friendly banter to uncomfortable discussion about Jess's relationship. They press on toward the mine despite the friction.

While walking toward the mine, Kyle hears noises and spots a large gray wolf. He freezes in a fetal position to protect himself, and when he finally looks again the wolf is gone. He tells the others about the sighting, but they are skeptical.

Ben, Jess, and Rob head to the mine while Kyle stays back for a moment. The group explores the area and the atmosphere grows more ominous as they venture deeper. Kyle remains behind, feeling left out and uneasy.

After the mine excursion, they head into town to look around. In the town, Jess and Rob split off into a saloon while Ben voices disappointment about the trip. The sense of danger from wolves lingers just out of sight.

In the saloon, Jess discovers a journal that echoes the opening lines of the film, hinting at a grim fate. The moment foreshadows the danger that looms as the night approaches. The others react with cautious curiosity.

Kyle and Jess locate Ben stumbling and clutching his leg as they hurry him back to the car. They discover the ignition wires have been tampered with and that Jess's phone has been stolen. Rob volunteers to go get help while they wait in the saloon.

Rob runs to get help but is pursued by wolves. He is attacked yet manages to escape and bursts back into the saloon, knocking down Jess. The trio then barricade the doors and windows to keep the wolves out.

A wolf climbs the stairs to the bar and attacks Rob, who fights back and kills it with a chair leg. Ben then dies, leaving Jess and Kyle to contend with the danger and try to move him to a safer room.

With Ben fading, they decide to move him to another room and Rob breaks through floorboards to escape. The wolves gather outside as the trio heads for a nearby barn, where wolves push on the doors. Kyle runs to his car to grab supplies while Rob creates a distraction to buy them time.

Inside the barn they discover dynamite and a disturbing den, including what appears to be a human femur. Kyle reads from the found journal, which warns that the wolves won't stop until everyone is dead. Rob grabs a lighter and the group steels themselves for a deadly plan.

Rob declares he's going to fetch more dynamite and slips out toward the shed. He sneaks past a wolf and retrieves a stick of dynamite before returning to the group with a renewed sense of urgency.

In the morning, the trio climbs out the window with the intent of reaching a boat house. They discuss using dynamite to deter the wolves as they move toward safety. Rob stays behind for a moment, but the plan continues to hinge on timing.

Rob heads out to lure the wolves with dynamite, but is killed by the wolves and Ben's body is dragged into the fray. Kyle then retrieves dynamite and lighter, sets a box in the house, and jumps off the roof as it explodes. The blast buys them a fragile window of escape.

As Kyle and Jess stagger away, a wolf appears at the edge of the road. Kyle threatens it with another stick of dynamite, even though he has no lighter, and the wolf backs off. They press on down the road, scarred but free for the moment.
