Jon, a middle‑aged professor, is about to marry tomorrow for the second time, this time to a former student half his age. His wedding is complicated by a hostile mother‑in‑law‑to‑be demanding loan repayment, a stalled golf‑course plan on Flatey island, a best man who is wildly drunk and shoeless, and the lingering presence of his emotional first wife. As guests arrive, Jon’s confidence wavers; after a night of heavy drinking and reflection, the question is whether he’ll make it to the church in time.
