In London, Zoe Stevenson, a filmmaker, starts documenting the lives of her British-Pakistani neighbors. Her main focus is on her childhood best friend, Kazim 'Kaz' Khan, as he navigates his arranged marriage journey.

A Muslim matchmaker named Mo facilitates a video call between Kaz and a potential bride, Maymouna, from Pakistan. While Kaz is keen on the arrangement, Maymouna appears hesitant, raising concerns about the suitability of the match.

Despite initial doubts, both families agree to Kaz's marriage to Maymouna. Kaz prepares for his trip to Lahore, while Zoe documents the cultural and emotional nuances surrounding the arranged marriage.

Zoe travels with Kaz to Lahore, immersing herself in Pakistani culture and traditions. Throughout the trip, she is reminded by her mother that she should also consider her own romantic prospects.
