Rick Grimes leads the group of survivors from Atlanta toward Fort Benning after the destruction of the CDC, determined to keep everyone moving and safe. He tries to reach Morgan Jones to check in, but the line goes dead, leaving him with uneasy silence and a heavy sense of responsibility.

Along a crowded highway, the convoy comes to a grinding halt as a long wall of abandoned cars blocks the route. The team works to clear the path and repair an ailing RV, while scavenging for supplies amid the tension of the road. Behind them, a ravenous horde of walkers closes in, forcing everyone to shelter beneath vehicles to avoid a direct encounter. In the chaos, T-Dog sustains a severe arm injury as he moves too quickly. Amid the confusion, walkers spot Sophia, Carol Peletier’s daughter, hiding under a car and she bolts for the nearby forest. Rick follows, signaling her to seek a safer hiding place while he fights to keep the walkers at bay.

Once the immediate danger clears, the group resumes the slow task of clearing the road, and Rick, joined by Daryl Dixon, makes another attempt to locate Sophia. In Rick’s absence, Shane Walsh pulls Lori aside to reveal his plan to leave the group on his own terms, stirring a quiet fracture in the fragile leadership. When Rick and Daryl return without Sophia, the group spends the night on the roadside, preparing to press the search again at dawn.
