In the ruins of Salt Lake City, the group faces a terrifying onslaught of giant killer cockroaches. The ensuing battle leads to Keegan's untimely death, further diminishing the group's numbers and morale.

After experiencing drivetrain failure near Detroit, the group seeks spare parts for their vehicle. The search leads them through a desolate wrecking yard, emphasizing the scarcity of resources in their devastated world.

As the storm subsides, the group intercepts a faint radio signal filled with music. This discovery leads Tanner and Billy on an adventurous quest to uncover the broadcast's origins, symbolizing a potential return to civilization.
