Zoe rapidly descends a flight of stairs with a baby in her arms and three other children in tow. A physical altercation erupts with her neighbour, and insults fly as tempers flare. The moment sets a tense tone for what follows in the evening.

A man pulls up in a car and calls Zoe by name. He questions who the children are, and Zoe explains they belong to a friend she is looking after.

A wasp crawls toward the baby's mouth and Zoe pleads, 'Don't sting him' as it flies away. She notices ribs smeared around the baby's mouth and becomes enraged, chastising Kelly for not watching the child. After the outburst, the family shares a brief, uneasy moment of reconciliation.

The family embraces after the tension, and David tells Zoe he wants to have a chat as he drives them home, while the children sing along to the radio.
