Bretnik's life changes when he receives a call from Elena Guzman, who fears foul play in her daughter Zoe’s tragic death in Wander, New Mexico. The distress and desperation in her voice compel him to investigate further.

As Bretnik delves deeper into the case, he begins to feel that he is being followed, heightening his paranoia. Memories of his own daughter’s death intertwine with the current investigation, leaving him haunted.

Bretnik follows a suspicious Jeep Cherokee and makes a shocking discovery inside: a woman's lifeless body. This grotesque find leads him to an underground facility filled with captives implanted with microchips.

Investigating further, Bretnik and Cleats stumble upon the unsettling truth that the women they were looking for, Elena and Zoe, are actually the missing Sofia and Martina Lopez. This revelation shocks Bretnik to his core.
