Violent Night

In the end of “Violent Night,” Santa, who is revealed to be a former Viking warrior named Nikamund the Red, is wounded and bleeding after a shootout with the mercenaries trying to steal from the Lightstone family. Despite his injuries, Trudy, the young girl who had believed in Santa all along, reaffirms her faith by expressing her belief that Santa can still do good. Before leaving, his wife’s note from his past as a fierce Viking warrior reconnects him to his true self, and he departs in his sleigh pulled by the reindeer, leaving behind a scene of renewed love and hope. The family’s wish for unity and happiness is fulfilled when Jason and Linda reconcile, giving Trudy the Christmas she always wanted. The movie ends on a note of festive miracle and faith, emphasizing that belief and love are powerful forces that can bring about unexpected magic, even in a world filled with chaos and greed. The fate of the stolen money is left unaddressed, adding a hint of mystery about whether it remains with the family or is reclaimed by the real-world greed and corruption around them. A mid-credits scene hints that the Lightstone family’s greed might never truly change, as Gertrude’s daughter posts a video bragging about their wealth, suggesting that the true spirit of Christmas—that faith in miracles and love—still persists, even among the most selfish.
