The early 2000s in Madrid chronicles immigration hurdles, with a final return to Asturias crystallizing themes of memory and reconciliation.

The opening frame is Asturias, a coal mining region that shapes the social fabric. The story then moves to Buenos Aires’ La Boca, a dense immigrant neighborhood where exile and new life unfold. In the 2001–2005 arc, Madrid becomes the hub for immigration struggles, while Asturias reappears as a touchstone of memory and homecoming.
