Vasool Raja MBBS

Raja, a local Chennai don, extorts money with his right-hand man Vatti. He also runs the faux Venkataraman Charitable Hospital to pretend he's living his father's dream of becoming a doctor. This double life sets up the tension that drives the story.

One year later, Vishwanathan schemes to marry Raja to his daughter, Dr. Janaki. The plan hinges on presenting Raja as a suitable groom through the family connection. The arrangement foreshadows the moment when Raja's real life is finally exposed.

The truth about Raja is revealed to Vishwanathan and others, humiliating him. Vishwanathan insults Raja's parents and ridicules them for being unaware of his true life. Sriman Venkataraman and Kasturi are aghast and disown Raja, leaving for their village.

Seeking redemption after the humiliation, Raja vows to become a doctor. He enrolls in a medical college to obtain an MBBS degree. His aim shifts from crime to genuine credential-building and revenge against the past humiliation.

With help from Vatti and others, Raja gains admission to the SLR Institute of Medical Sciences. He encounters Vishwanathan again, who is the college dean. His admission is contingent on navigating the college's hierarchy and mentors.

Although his medical skills are weak, Raja introduces his mother's 'Kattipudi Vaithiyam' hugging therapy to encourage empathy. He pushes for a more humane approach in a system that favors cold, impersonal treatment. He even treats a brain-dead patient as if he could perceive and respond.

Vishwanathan views Raja's empathy as chaos and becomes increasingly irritable. He cannot stop the spread of Raja's influence within the college. The dean's frustration grows as Raja defies conventional expectations.

Meanwhile, Janaki grows fond of Raja, who reciprocates his feelings. Vishwanathan tries several times to expel him, but Raja outsmarts the attempts. The romantic arc adds personal stakes to the unfolding drama.

Margabandhu's senile father is admitted to the hospital, prompting Raja to summon a carrom board for a playful challenge. The game leads to a miraculous revival as the father wakes and joins the match. The moment underscores Raja's unorthodox healing approach.

Vishwanathan orders Raja to leave and the students block the exit in protest. He then proposes a test: Raja must answer all questions asked by the doctors in front of the entire university. Raja accepts the challenge, hoping to prove his knowledge and honesty.

During the test, patient Zakir's condition worsens and dies in Raja's hands, despite his best efforts. The tragedy shakes Raja and undermines his confidence. Vishwanathan's grip over the situation tightens as the administration scrutinizes him.

The next morning Raja starts answering questions more effectively, but Vishwanathan intervenes and declares he will pose all forthcoming questions himself. Raja is unable to answer and finally confesses the truth to everyone. The crowd is moved by his speech, except for Vishwanathan.

Immediately after Raja leaves, the brain-dead patient unexpectedly wakes from the vegetative state, validating his empathetic approach. Janaki criticizes her father for banishing Raja, and Vishwanathan realizes his folly. The revelation softens the former dean, who recognizes Raja's humanity.

Raja marries Janaki and reconciles with his parents, completing his transformation from a don to a doctor. The family heals as Raja begins his new life with his bride and a legitimate medical career. The film closes on a hopeful note for the couple and their family.
