Anthony 'Man' Stoner faces a critical ultimatum from his parents: find a job by sundown or be sent to military school. This situation propels him into a quest for adventure as he looks for ways to avoid his fate.

Stranded on the highway, Man's luck changes when he is picked up by Pedro de Pacas, an equally laid-back stoner. Their immediate bond is solidified with a shared massive joint that sets the mood for their adventure.

After the joint, Man and Pedro discover it was tainted by dog droppings, leading to a hilarious realization. Their carefree attitude remains intact as they laugh off their misfortune.

As Man unknowingly introduces Pedro to LSD during a heightened moment, their trip takes a surreal turn. This psychedelic experience complicates their already chaotic journey.

Their wild experience is cut short when law enforcement discovers them slumped over in their vehicle on a traffic median. What follows is a hilarious and hectic confrontation with the police that highlights their reckless antics.

In a comedic frenzy, Strawberry confuses police with Viet Cong during a flashback, resulting in a hilariously misguided deportation to Tijuana. The group seeks an escape route to a wedding and dives headfirst into madness.

While attempting to retrieve a car from Pedro's uncle, they unintentionally get wrapped up in smuggling a van made of 'fiberweed.' Their escapades attract the attention of Sgt. Stedenko and his narcotics unit.

The pursuit by Stedenko leads to a series of misadventures as their van becomes the target. Their luck seems to turn when a tire puncture halts the chase, giving them a brief respite.

After picking up two hitchhiking women, they are swayed into performing at the Battle of the Bands at the Roxy Theatre. With the potential for success on the horizon, they narrowly escape arrest amidst their antics.

When they take the stage, one of the women mistakenly gives Man a substance that sends him into a frenzy. Despite the chaos, their band, Alice Bowie, manages to captivate the audience with a euphoric performance.

With police officers among the audience, the cloud of marijuana smoke adds to their bizarre performance atmosphere. Man and Pedro’s journey leads them to revel in success despite the odds stacked against them.

After their triumphant performance, Pedro and Man set off on a new road trip, filled with dreams of future success. Their carefree spirit remains intact as they drive into the sunset.
