In Florida, Sam begins her day by preparing to head into work. She picks up a card and types the number from it into her phone, unknowingly setting off a chain of events that would change her day dramatically.

Meanwhile in Michigan, Emily is held captive in a secluded cabin by her ex-boyfriend, Charlie. He threatens her life if she does not return to him, showcasing the depth of her desperate situation.

As Sam arrives at a gas station, she faces hostility from her abrasive manager and an entitled customer. This experience adds to her mounting stress, contrasting sharply with Emily's dire circumstances.

Emily manages to escape from the cabin but breaks her glasses in the process, impairing her vision. While hiding in the woods, she struggles to call 911, only to find that help may take a while to arrive.

In a stroke of fate, Emily accidentally calls Sam from her missed call log. Desperate, she asks Sam for assistance, linking their paths together as they begin to communicate.

Sam directs Emily to a nearby barn to hide from Charlie. In a climactic showdown, as Charlie attacks Emily, she recalls Sam's advice and uses the shard of the broken mirror to stab him, finally ending his threat.

Just as Emily defeats Charlie, the sound of sirens signals the arrival of help. Meanwhile, the police find Sam and prepare to take her into custody, prompting a moment of reflection amid the tension.

After the crisis, Emily and Sam video call each other, having formed a close connection. They discuss future plans, with Emily excited to travel to Japan and Sam hinting at returning to school.

As their call ends, Sam drives away and carelessly tosses the card for the 'Tallahassee Suicide Prevention Center' out of her window. This act signifies their journey towards healing and newfound friendships.
