Mohanlal as Eby Abraham leads a nomadic life, caring for a cluster of orphaned children who travel with him and survive by performing street magic. Their small, makeshift family moves from town to town, turning every street corner into a stage and every shared moment into a lesson in trust. Eby’s presence is steady and gentle, a protective core around the youngsters who look up to him with a mix of affection and vulnerability. The bond among them feels as natural as a shepherd tending his flock, with laughter and risk mingling in equal measure as they navigate hunger, danger, and fleeting joys on the margins of society.
During one stay, the group encounters a church priest who listens with kindness and offers guidance. Thilakan as the Priest becomes a steady, sympathetic presence, encouraging education as a path out of poverty and suggesting practical steps to secure a safer future for the children.
Eby’s backstory unfolds in fragments: he was kidnapped from his home as a young boy by a street performer who abused him. One night, Eby escapes and is rescued by a wealthy man who adopts him—M G Soman as Thomas Ebraham. Thomas’s sudden death later leaves Eby homeless again, as Thomas’s estranged wife, Valsala Menon, and his brothers return to reclaim the wealth and force Eby out of the home he had come to know as family.
With little money to his name, Eby wanders the streets and encounters several street children who are abused or left orphaned. He feels a deep empathy for their suffering and makes it his mission to protect and love them, turning his own hardship into a vow to be a guardian for the vulnerable around him. The idea of turning care into concrete support begins to take shape when the Priest steps in with a plan: educate the children and give them a chance at a brighter future. Supported by the Priest’s generosity, Eby begins to set up a farm to cover the educational and living expenses needed to sustain the group.
Annie Mol enters their life as a relative of Ouseppachan, a figure associated with the group through Innocent as Ouseppachan. Karthika portrays Annie Mol, a woman who has endured loss in a plane crash and who soon finds herself drawn to Eby. Annie’s arrival brings new dimensions to the family’s dynamics, including a developing bond with Eby that adds warmth and complexity to their shared journey.
For the anniversary of his father’s death, Eby learns that he is a terminal heart patient. Faced with a limited future, he resolves to spend his remaining days with the children and Annie, choosing love and responsibility over despair. He flees from the hospital to protect these last precious days, and Annie learns of his illness with a pain that is both heartbreaking and deeply human. That night, Eby envisions the children running toward him, calling his name, a vision that returns him to the morning after with the Priest, Annie, and the children paying their final respects as they find him at rest, leaving them all to grieve in shared sorrow.
