Thunder Force

In March 1983, Earth is bombarded by cosmic rays in a cataclysmic event that changes everything. These rays grant superpowers to sociopaths, resulting in a surge of super-villains known as the Miscreants who begin terrorizing ordinary citizens.

Following the emergence of the Miscreants, a young girl named Emily Stanton experiences a personal tragedy when her parents, both renowned geneticists, are brutally murdered by one of these villains. This event marks a turning point in her life, igniting her passion to combat these powerful threats.

By 1985, Emily has dedicated her life to finding ways to fight the Miscreants, sacrificing her social life in the process. Despite facing bullying, she gains the support of her loyal friend Lydia, who defends her and encourages her ambitions.

A mishap occurs when Lydia convinces Emily to take a nap, causing Emily to miss an important AP exam. This creates a rift between them, leading to misunderstandings and strain in their once-strong friendship.

By 2024, Emily has established herself as a successful scientist, running her own research company, while Lydia has settled into a more traditional life as a longshoreman. Despite their differences, both women remain concerned about the persistent danger of the Miscreants.

As their high school reunion approaches, Lydia reaches out to Emily in hopes of rekindling their friendship. Unfortunately, Emily gets consumed by work and forgets about the reunion, leading to guilt and missed opportunities.

During a fateful accident where Lydia spills beer on Emily's lab equipment, she accidentally injects herself with a serum intended to grant super strength. This unexpected turn of events thrusts them into a new reality filled with risks and challenges.

With the help of Allie, an ex-CIA operative, Lydia begins training to harness her new abilities while Emily chooses a pill form of the serum for invisibility. Their intense training journey lasts for thirty-three days, and during this time, their bond strengthens.

With their newfound powers, Emily and Lydia become known as Thunder Force. Their first crime-fighting mission involves thwarting a robbery orchestrated by the Miscreant known as The Crab, solidifying their status as heroes in the city.

As Thunder Force gains fame, they attract the attention of William "The King" Stevens, a mayoral candidate with dubious intentions. While he publicly promises to eliminate the Miscreant threat, he secretly works alongside villains like The Crab and Laser.

Conflict arises when Laser ambushes Thunder Force, causing tensions to flare between Lydia and Emily once again. In an attempt to mend their friendship, Lydia dates The Crab, leading to unexpected revelations about The King's dangerous plot.

In a climactic showdown against The King, Thunder Force uncovers his true nature as a powerful Miscreant. Just as The King is about to defeat Lydia, The Crab unexpectedly turns against him, resulting in a wild battle that escalates the chaos.

In a heartbreaking moment, Lydia decides to sacrifice herself by jumping into the Chicago River with a bomb targeted at the city. This act of bravery exemplifies her growth and commitment to protecting others, despite the danger it poses.

Miraculously, first responders save Lydia from the river, allowing her to reunite with Emily. This near-tragic event reinvigorates their friendship, leading them to accept the mayor's proposal for support in their ongoing fight against the Miscreants.

With their friendship restored and bolstered by newfound support, Thunder Force embarks on their continued mission to safeguard the city. They are determined to face the Miscreants, armed with both their powers and the strength of their bond.
