Thor: God of Thunder

The movie opens with Asgard being invaded by frost giants, ripping through defenses as Thor, Sif, and Loki train nearby. Thor pushes himself into combat to protect his allies and his home, showing his impulsive bravery. The attack sets the stage for a conflict that pulls multiple realms into war.

During the initial clash, Sif is frozen by a Frost Giant, leaving Thor to fight on with renewed urgency. He manages to free her and fend off further attackers, demonstrating both strength and resolve. The rescue deepens Thor's commitment to protecting his friends at any cost.

The invasion ends, but Sif lies fatally wounded in the process. Thor pleads for retribution against the invaders, yet Odin refuses to grant it. The moment triggers Thor's growing defiance toward his father's orders.

Enraged by Odin's stand, Thor disobeys and departs for Niflheim to confront the mastermind behind the attack. He is aided by one of Loki's projected clones, who is revealed to be orchestrating the invasion. The journey marks a turning point as Thor follows his own appetite for vengeance.

While Thor travels through realms, Odin manages to save Sif from death and then enters the Odinsleep to concentrate the realm's safety. The act creates a power vacuum that shapes the path of events to come. The galaxy-wide threat expands as Sif is briefly removed from the fight.

Thor arrives in Niflheim and, guided by Loki's clone, is told to seek Ymir, the Lord of the Jötun who rules this realm. He learns that locating Ymir will uncover a dangerous source of power. The mission intertwines with Loki's manipulations and sets up a confrontation with ancient powers.

After a lengthy confrontation, Thor defeats Ymir inside the Cave of Ages. He discovers a power source that, according to Loki, could annihilate Niflheim itself. The encounter marks a shift from mere invasion to the unleashing of a world-threatening threat.

The power source transforms into Mangog, a mighty golden creature that instantly vaporizes Ymir. Loki seizes the moment and sends Thor toward Vanaheim in a guilt-laden plan to keep him away from Asgard. The reveal exposes Loki's ambition and a deeper manipulation of fate.

Meanwhile, Loki negotiates with Ulik, lord of the Vanir-trolls in Vanaheim, to delay Thor's return to Asgard. Loki promises to repair the Frostgrinder and lets Ulik depart Vanaheim, hoping to buy time against Mangog's rampage. The betrayal underscores the fragile loyalties among the realms.

Back in Asgard, Mangog wreaks havoc across the city as Loki tries to stop the monster with the Casket of Eternal Winter. The plan backfires when Mangog shatters the ice and declares war on all realms. The crisis forces drastic measures as the heroes scramble.

Loki asks Ulik to facilitate Thor's return by using the Frostgrinder, but Ulik betrays Loki and thwarts the plan. Thor, meanwhile, uncovers a historical record revealing that Odin created Mangog after the Vanir declared war on Asgard. The revelation reframes Mangog as a consequence of past actions.

Thor learns Mangog's only weakness lies in Scabrite, a god-made mineral used to restrain him. The clue points him toward Muspelheim, the realm of the Infernir, where Scabrite can be found. Loki frames the search as a chance to end Mangog's threat once and for all.

Thor travels to Muspelheim, faces Surtur, and defeats him to claim the Twilight Sword. He destroys the Twilight, releasing its Scabrite-filled energy, which then feeds into Mjolnir. The quest marks a pivotal climb toward finishing Mangog's menace.

Thor returns to Asgard and, following Loki's instruction, helps Heimdall and a recovered Sif retake the Bifrost observatory. He then confronts Mangog in a final duel alongside Loki and a weakened Odin. After a long battle, Thor defeats Mangog and apologizes to Odin, who reveals Mangog's origin and frees the trapped Vanir souls to their afterlife.
