The Ridiculous

Tommy is raised by the Indigenous tribe after his mother's murder, earning the name White Knife. Chief Screaming Eagle arranges his marriage to Smoking Fox as part of a tribal alliance. The arrangement foreshadows how Tommy will integrate into both the tribe and a larger family network.

A bank robber, Frank Stockburn, visits and claims to be Tommy's biological father. He explains that he is dying of consumption and that he has $50,000 buried in a meadow. He offers the money to Tommy and the tribe in exchange for their help in retrieving it.

The next day, Cicero's bandits descend on the village demanding Frank surrender the big score. They kidnap Frank so he can lead them to the money at the Singing Windmill, threatening the tribe if they resist. The tension raises the stakes for Tommy's quest.

Tommy searches the meadow for the stash but cannot find the money. He resolves to steal the amount himself and rescue his father, setting the quest in motion. This turn marks the start of the Ridiculous 6's adventures.

During the journey, Tommy discovers five half-brothers: Ramon, Lil Pete, Herm, Danny, and Chico. Each brother has a distinct backstory and skill, shaping their future roles. The revelation widens their mission into a makeshift family quest.

Clem joins the Left-Eye Gang and helps abduct Smoking Fox. Smoking Fox escapes thanks to Clem's blindness, sparking a renewed search for Tommy and his siblings. The group begins to be known as the Ridiculous 6.

The half-brothers meet Chico and Danny, then confront Smiley Harris, a sociopathic saloon owner who once worked with Frank. Smiley tries to kill them in revenge, but Ramon decapitates him with accidental precision. The killing heightens the dangers pursuing the brothers.

The Ridiculous 6 meet Abner Doubleday, who is developing baseball with Chinese immigrants. The odd meeting adds humor and a slice of history to their journey. It signals a shift toward the next plan and more enemies.

The Left-Eye Gang catches up to the Ridiculous 6 while they relax in a pond, overpowers them, and steals their loot. The loss forces the group to regroup and plan a bolder heist. The incident tightens their bond and resolve.

Seeking a bigger score, the Ridiculous 6 rob a gambling game in Yuma hosted by Ezekiel Grant and attended by Mark Twain and General Custer. They succeed, though Wyatt Earp nearly derails the plan. The heist motivates their plan to ransom their missing father.

On the way to ransom Frank, they encounter the Left-Eye Gang left to die in the desert by Cicero and rescue them, reclaiming the money that had been stolen. The group gains a new sense of purpose as they push toward rescuing Frank. The loot becomes a unifying symbol for their goals.

That evening, Tommy discovers through a photograph carried by Danny that Cicero killed his mother. The revelation fuels his determination to rescue his father and confront Cicero alone. He sets off to find and confront him.

Tommy follows Cicero, pays the ransom, and confronts him. He reveals a Plan B: a hidden bomb inside the ransom bag. The explosion creates chaos as Frank attempts to escape with Smoking Fox.

Tommy rescues Smoking Fox and captures Frank, who admits Cicero killed his mother, sealing his fate. Back at the village, Tommy weds Smoking Fox in a ceremony attended by the Ridiculous 6 and the half-brothers; Screaming Eagle adopts all the brothers.

In the post-credits scene, Abner Doubleday and his Chinese baseball team chant to celebrate their unusual new friends. The moment offers a tongue-in-cheek coda to the day’s adventures.
