With the help of his wife Minerva, Lemuel P. Twine decides to enter politics and run as reform-mayor of Witumpka Falls. He is also the head of Twine's Tasty Pudding Powder Company, which shapes public perception of his candidacy. The decision marks the start of a campaign that intertwines business and local politics.
