Based on a true story, the film dramatizes Hong Kong’s infamous “Hello Kitty Murder.” In 1999 three triad members abducted 23‑year‑old Fan Man‑yee, subjecting her to a month of brutal torture and beating until she died. They then dismembered her, cooked the remains, discarded most in trash, fed limbs to stray dogs, and concealed her skull inside the head of an oversized Hello Kitty doll.
