A former gunfighter, freshly released from prison and newly converted to religion, arrives in a frontier town as its preacher. He discovers a bitter feud between ranchers and farmers, while a railroad agent schemes to seize the ranchers' land with hired guns. Determined to unite the warring sides, he vows to resolve the conflict without violence.
