A juvenile, reckless king tests the patience of his shrewish queen. While she waits in the throne room, he wastes time playing with guns, drilling soldiers, and flirting with a minister’s wife. The queen discovers the affair, the minister intervenes, and she schemes to keep him confined. The king, queen, minister and the coquette become tangled in a comic game of musical beds as the monarch scrambles to secure his night out.
