A brilliant scientist creates a serum that can keep a severed head alive, first demonstrated on a dog’s head. When the scientist later suffers a fatal heart attack, his unhinged assistant decapitates him, uses the serum to sustain the doctor’s head, and forces it to assist in a grotesque experiment to graft a new body onto his hunchbacked nurse assistant.
