In the waning years of the eleventh century, Pope Urban II summons a holy war against the Saracens who have seized Jerusalem. Inspired by the papal call, three close friends—Richard, Peter and Andrew—embark on an arduous journey to enlist in the crusading army, hoping to fight for the sacred city.
