Sammy Hogarth, a vaudeville‑born comedian now heading his own television show, rules with cruelty and an inflated ego. He expects immediate obedience from every staff member, berating anyone he deems beneath him. His harshest torment is saved for his timid brother Lester, whom Sammy employs as an assistant only to bully and punish like a whipping‑boy.
