Amedeo and Ofelia, a middle‑aged brother and sister, co‑own a decaying yet charming condominium they intend to sell. They must first evict the reluctant tenants. When the beloved mascot cat, Il Gatto, dies, the siblings use the tragedy to enter the residents’ lives: Amedeo courts the young tenant Wanda, while Ofelia seduces the priest Don Pezzolla. Police investigate the cat’s murder.
