Beth, an American mother residing in London, decides to escape her monotonous life by taking a holiday in the stunning landscapes of Croatia with her adventurous best friend, Kate. Little does she know, this trip will spiral into a series of shocking events that challenge her very understanding of trust and love. As they indulge in the vibrant nightlife, Beth confides in Kate about the troubles in her marriage to Rob, feeling the weight of a relationship that has grown stale. While dancing and laughing, they attract the attention of two charming men who flirt with them, prompting Kate to encourage Beth to seize the wild moment and consider a one-night stand.

The following day dawns with Beth feeling disoriented and frustrated, soon realizing that Kate has mysteriously vanished. Her husband, Rob, and the local police are not particularly helpful, leaving Beth feeling isolated and desperate. In a twist of fate, Zain, a taxi driver who had previously taken them to the club, steps in to support Beth during this dark time. Through a tense encounter, Zain retrieves Kate’s purse and phone, leading to the shocking discovery that the men from the club were not only escorts but also deceitful con artists who engage in drugging and robbing their unsuspecting clients.

Determined to solve the mystery surrounding her friend’s disappearance, Beth returns to the police to initiate an official investigation. When Rob arrives in Croatia, his immediate suspicion falls on Zain, intensifying the already chaotic situation. Tragedy strikes as Kate’s lifeless body is discovered, leaving Beth shattered and desperate for answers. Searching through her deceased friend’s phone, Beth uncovers a string of texts that reveal a troubling affair between Rob and Kate. The police drag Beth into their investigation, now considering her the primary suspect. With the revelation that both she and Kate had drugs in their systems, Beth’s memories of that night grow hazier, and she insists she was unwittingly drugged.

As the authorities interview the escorts, they proclaim their innocence, leaving Beth increasingly bewildered and frustrated. The police confiscate her passport, and feeling cornered, she confronts Rob about the affair, which only adds to the growing tension. Soon, Beth finds herself facing darker accusations, as the police claim she conspired with Zain to murder Kate. In a frantic quest for clarity, she stumbles upon a disturbing truth about her Airbnb host, Sebastian, who has been recording the activities of his guests. The footage reveals the heartbreaking moments leading up to Kate’s disappearance, showing her getting robbed by the escorts and later tracking them in a taxi.

The investigation deepens as it is revealed that Kate’s last moments were entwined with a policeman named Pavić, who seemed to have a vested interest in the case but did not believe Beth’s story. As Beth and Zain confront the taxi driver who transported Kate, they unravel a trail of events that suggests her last known location was at the police station alongside the officers. However, the situation escalated when Beth and Zain find themselves entangled in a web of deceit, leading them both to be arrested. Through sheer cunning and determination, Beth realizes that Pavić is not as innocent as he appears, and in a nail-biting climax, during a struggle, he falls to his demise from a building, leaving behind a chaotic series of questions.

After all the turmoil, the police conclude that Pavić was responsible for Kate’s tragic fate, exonerating Beth in the process. Yet, her return to London does not bring the peace she hoped for; Rob wants to mend their relationship, but Beth, having discovered the truth, refuses. As she rummages through their belongings in search of her car keys, an unsettling discovery is made—beads from a necklace she gifted Kate are found in Rob’s coat pocket. Confronting her husband with evidence of his dark secret, Beth forces him to confess that he had traveled to Croatia to prevent Kate from revealing their affair, leading to a fatal encounter that took Kate’s life. With the police swiftly apprehending Rob, Beth finally walks away, determined to protect her baby and reclaim her sense of self, free from the chains of betrayal.
