The Venture Bros.: Radiant Is the Blood of the Baboon Heart (2023) Timeline Explained – Every Event in Order

The Monarch is revealed to be a genetically engineered clone created to help his parents conceive due to infertility issues. The cloning procedure went wrong when baboon DNA was accidentally introduced, which is why he has baboon-like traits and behaviors. This explains his lifelong obsession with Dr. Venture, not as a sibling rivalry, but as a mistaken vendetta based on false assumptions about their relationship.

Foreshadowing: The Monarch's irrational hatred of Dr. Venture and his primate-like mannerisms were hints throughout the series.

Elige Tua is Latin for 'choose your family.' The watch was a gift from Jonas Venture given to Hank through Ben. The inscription reflects the film's central theme that family is defined by love and commitment rather than shared DNA, which is reinforced by the revelations about The Monarch's clone origin and Mantilla's true relationship with the Venture brothers.

Dr. Venture passed his mother's unique invisibility ability to Mantilla as payment for a priceless legacy, the fertilized eggs that would later become Hank and Dean. This makes Mantilla their biological mother, though she never raised them. The revelation comes when Dr. Mrs. The Monarch discovers Mantilla's pregnancy and confronts her about their shared bloodline.

Foreshadowing: Dr. Venture's history of passing his genetic abilities to others was established earlier in the series.

During The Monarch and 21's heist at VenTech Tower, Mantilla hacked into the HelperPods using 21's phone. She turned the devices' existing floating glitch against them, causing them to spin out of control and send the tower into an unstable orbit. Mantilla later used her newly acquired invisibility powers to shut down the HelperPods entirely, triggering the tower's descent toward Earth.

Foreshadowing: Dr. Venture's frustration with the HelperPod bug that made them float and play tunes was established earlier.
