Kanzaki, Shiba, and Imura form a tight-knit robbery trio and pull off a string of bank heists. They lay low for a year, living under the radar as they wait for the next score. When Imura falls into debt, he begs to join one more job to keep the crew moving.

Kadomachi, a young rock-club owner, lays out a plan to hijack an armored car believed to carry 200 million yen from a hotel near Lake Tōya on its way to Sapporo. The trio buys into the scheme, convinced the score could cement their future. Kadomachi’s blueprint exudes confidence and spectacle.

The armored car turns out to carry only 50 million yen. In the chaos, Imura hesitates, drops his gun, and Kadomachi shoots him, taking all the money and blowing up the safe house to cover their tracks. Kanzaki and Shiba are wounded, and Misato arrives to pull them to safety and push the crew toward their next moves.

Kadomachi infiltrates Shiba’s home and reconnects with Mai, Shiba’s girlfriend who had hoped to share the loot. Mai, unhappy with the smaller take, betrays the plan and steals the money. She hides it away to secure her own cut.

Kanzaki visits Yoshida’s office to report on the job. A televised armored-car robbery exposes the cash’s origin, and the loan shark backing Kadomachi realizes the money is linked to the crew. He hires Tatsuo to kill Kanzaki and Kadomachi to seize the loot and take over the club.

Kanzaki turns to Dr. Sakagari, a controversial plastic surgeon, to remove the bullet near Shiba’s heart. The risky operation adds another layer to the crew’s scheming and loyalty. The medical move buys time for the next confrontation.

Imura’s widow contacts Kanzaki, reminding him of the human cost behind every payday. The exchange underscores the personal stakes and consequences for those left behind. The revelation deepens the crew’s moral fragmentation.

Misato gives Kanzaki 1 million yen to help with a loan payment and is dropped at a resort. Two bikers attempt to mug her, but she fights back with a razor and sends them into the water. The violent act highlights the constant danger surrounding their payday.

Kanzaki visits Imura’s widow again to deliver the 1 million yen, and she reveals Imura was actually a Korean named Kim. The revelation adds a personal twist to the crew’s history and motives. The life of a thief becomes even more personal.

Mai lures Kanzaki to the street with a payphone cue, triggering a gunfight with Kadomachi. Mai uses Kadomachi’s red car to ram Kanzaki into the water as Kadomachi opens fire into the depths. He then leads the police on a chase, hijacking a bus; Tatsuo shoots the bus driver, and Kadomachi crashes the bus into a construction site.

An up-and-coming band performs at the club’s opening night, drawing a hopeful crowd. Mai dies in the car during a final confrontation, and Kanzaki rams his own car into the vehicle, turning it over. The night cements the end of a volatile chapter for the crew.

A young policeman asks Kadomachi who stabbed him, and Kadomachi tells him to be ashamed for wearing a policeman’s uniform. The moment crystallizes Kadomachi’s anti-authority stance. The city sweeps up the remaining players.

Kanzaki forces his way through a police barricade and crashes into the water, letting the money float to the surface. The final escape reframes the score as a symbol of the crew’s defiant thrill. The payout seems almost unstoppable, even as the law closes in.

The next day, Kanzaki and Misato ride a bus through a new city, smiling at the possibility of future heists. They pass bank after bank, the thrill of crime still alive in their eyes. The film closes on their restless, dangerous optimism.
