The Three Musketeers

D'Artagnan is captured by Gaston's agents but manages to escape and capture Comte de Chalais. Chalais orders him to be led to Constance's prison cell. Instead, they discover Milady, chained and tortured, and D'Artagnan frees her. Milady and D'Artagnan escape together and spend a night in a forest hideout.

Athos returns to his family castle to see his five-year-old son. They visit the grave of the boy's mother, a moment that underscores his past and the costs of their life. The scene foreshadows the personal tensions that run through the war.

Louis XIII orders war on La Rochelle and D'Artagnan joins the musketeers headed for the conflict under Captain Treville. The troupe travels to the western port, preparing for the siege and the ensuing battles. Tension rises as loyalties and schemes begin to unfold.

In the La Rochelle camp, Milady again attempts to seduce D'Artagnan, testing his resolve. D'Artagnan discovers a fleur-de-lis branded on her shoulder, revealing her identity as Milady de Winter. She flees, leaving him unsettled as the web around them tightens.

A small group of musketeers led by Captain Treville makes a daring night raid into La Rochelle fortress. They are unexpectedly discovered by Protestant rebels who were tipped off by Chalais. With the help of Hannibal, they mount a valiant defense and escape from the fortress.

Athos tracks Milady to a forest, where she secretly meets Cardinal Richelieu. He learns that she is ordered to assassinate the Duke of Buckingham. After Richelieu departs, Milady taunts Athos, but Aramis and D'Artagnan arrive to save him and she flees.

Cardinal Richelieu meets Queen Anne and promises to return Constance, who has been kept under arrest on his orders. The Queen informs D'Artagnan that Constance is safe under Buckingham's guard in England. The political maneuvering behind the war becomes clearer, though the personal costs remain high.

Benjamin, Athos's brother and a Protestant leader, is captured by Gaston's guards and condemned to death by drowning. Athos decides to abandon the French army to save his brother, and Aramis and D'Artagnan join him as they escape toward England.

Milady travels to England to assassinate the Duke of Buckingham. In Buckingham's castle, Constance recognizes her as the threat from the past, and Milady is captured and condemned to death.

Before the execution, Constance visits Milady in captivity and swaps clothes with her to save Milady. Milady escapes, but Constance is hanged in the palace courtyard in the place of Milady. D'Artagnan and his friends arrive too late to prevent the hanging.

D'Artagnan and Buckingham pursue Milady as she sets fire to Buckingham's palace. D'Artagnan enters the burning building to confront her, but Milady vanishes and he is rescued by his friends while unconscious.

Captain de Treville is tried for treason in the King's court. Aramis and D'Artagnan present evidence that Gaston has been communicating with La Rochelle rebels, leading to Treville's exoneration. The musketeers' loyalty is reaffirmed.

Athos returns to his castle to find his son abducted by an unknown intruder. On the boy's bed he finds an earring that once belonged to his wife, deepening the mystery surrounding his family and the ongoing conflict.
