The Story of the Voyages

In a medieval kingdom, two orphans named May and his sister Martha struggle with poverty. May possesses a unique ability to sense gold from a distance, but he becomes sick when he is near it. The siblings refrain from using the power to gain wealth, hoping for a safer life.

During the kingdom's Winter celebrations, a group of robbers abducts May to exploit his gold-sensing talent. Martha immediately sets out on a perilous quest to find and rescue her brother. The abduction marks the start of a long journey.

Martha is discovered by the traveling scientist Orlando after she passes out on the snow. He offers shelter in his wagon as the cold night passes. They decide to team up, and Orlando reluctantly agrees to help search for May.

Martha and Orlando travel through various fantastic lands, first crossing a swamp toward a mountain where a dragon sleeps. Orlando is cautious, but he agrees to accompany Martha on her dangerous quest. The trip introduces them to the dragon’s looming threat.

Upon reaching the dragon’s mountain, they discover a warm, idyllic paradise village built on the dragon's back, where knights lounge and secrets stay hidden. Martha is tempted to stay, while Orlando contemplates abandoning the quest for a peaceful life. The dragon remains a looming threat to reveal the village’s secrets.

The dragon wakes and destroys the paradise village, forcing Martha and Orlando to flee. They survive the catastrophe but find themselves separated again from May and the robbers. The journey resumes with renewed determination.

In a city tavern, Orlando dances with a local woman, triggering a confrontation. He is restrained and beaten, prompting a brawl that forces Martha and him to flee. They are captured by city guards and subjected to an inquisition; Orlando is found guilty and sentenced to immurement.

Orlando is sealed inside a tower as punishment, while Martha refuses to abandon him. She jumps into the tower with him, sharing a grim fate as they face a slow, hopeless death. The situation strains their resolve, but hope flickers.

Meanwhile, May is kept by the robbers under Gorgon’s leadership, who grows protective of him. May’s ability helps the gang locate a chest full of gold, increasing their wealth as they continue their search.

The duo finds a way to the tower’s top; Orlando devises a flying apparatus from his scientific ideas. At the climactic moment, Martha and Orlando leap from the tower and fly away to freedom.

Their flight ends in a city ravaged by the Black Death witch. They fend off the Witch with a fire torch, but Orlando contracts the plague and dies soon after. Plague doctors cremate his body as the city is saved.

Ten years later, Martha reaches a land ruled by a cruel prince who is revealed to be her brother, May. In this decade, May has learned to resist illness near gold and has acquired telekinetic powers to attract gold. He is raised as the prince's heir by Gorgon.

Martha discovers that the prince May is indeed her brother. Gorgon tries to tempt her with gold to abandon the quest, but she refuses and is imprisoned in a tower. May grows conflicted between family loyalty and Gorgon's ambitions.

In a rage over his sister’s plight, May draws all the gold to himself, collapsing the castle and killing the robbers. The sudden eruption of wealth and power forces him to confront the consequences of his abilities.

Martha realizes the spirit of Orlando has been reborn in May. He tests a return to flight by sketching a flying apparatus on a wall, inspired by Orlando’s earlier invention, signaling a hopeful path to flying home.
