The Spy with My Face

Mr. Waverly assigns UNCLE agents Solo, Kuryakin, Arsene Coria, and Namana to carry a top secret code to a hidden location. He explains the operation is codenamed the August Affair. Waverly also secretly assigns Australian agent Kittridge to follow them without their knowledge.

THRUSH gains knowledge of the August Affair and decides to act on it, despite knowing little of the mission’s details. They send Serena to entice Solo to her apartment, hoping to learn more about his objective. The two tries to pry information from each other fail, increasing the risk of discovery.

Solo is gassed into unconsciousness, and a THRUSH agent surgically altered to resemble Solo assumes his identity. An early attempt to kill Kuryakin to prevent detection is made but fails, allowing the real Solo to remain a potential mismatch in the mission.

Aboard a jet liner, the THRUSH double opens the briefcase and photographs the secret code. Kittridge, recognizing something is wrong, greets the 'old comrade' and is killed by the impostor. Solo’s name is used to mislead others about the real identity of the man they see.

The UNCLE team arrives at a secret underground vault hidden in the Swiss Alps. They learn about Project Earth Save, a super weapon devised by scientists from many nations. Because the weapon is so deadly, even seeing it can be fatal, so they must wear protective goggles. The code they carry is used to open the vault, and it changes every August.

Namana notices Solo's missing jacket button in the impostor’s briefcase, raising suspicion. The fake Solo rips Namana’s goggles away, leaving him mesmerized by the weapon’s aura and stumbling into the vault to his death.

The real Solo is kept prisoner nearby. He manages a daring escape, kills the head villain in the process, and makes his way toward the vault to confront the impostor and stop the weapon from being misused.

The THRUSH double and Serena intercept Solo on a highway. Serena shoots the impostor, ending the impersonation, and then persuades Solo to let her go, promising to return the favor.

With the impostor defeated, Solo heads toward the vault to secure the code and prevent Earth Save from being activated. He prepares to confront the remaining threats and ensure the safety of the operation.

The vault's code must be changed every August, underscoring the importance of timing in the mission. The events leave the fate of Earth Save unresolved in the summary, but Solo has thwarted the immediate impersonation and the attempt to unleash the weapon.
