In July 1976, thieves tunneled through Paris’s sewers to breach the vault of Société Générale, in France, stealing over $10 million. Dubbed the “Great Drain Robbery,” the heist inspired a book by mastermind Albert Spaggiari, which the film adapts. The romanticized cinematic version dramatizes the true events, with Francis Huster playing Spaggiari.
