Iman, an honest lawyer, is appointed as an investigating judge in the Revolutionary Court in Tehran. This prestigious position provides him with a higher salary and a larger apartment for his family, allowing for a better quality of life.

As Iman begins his new role, he quickly realizes that his appointment was not based on merit. Instead, he discovers that he is expected to blindly approve judgments presented by his superiors, including death sentences without considering the evidence.

The political protests against the authoritarian government escalate, creating an atmosphere of mistrust and paranoia. Iman is ordered to keep his role and the nature of his work a secret from his friends and family, adding to the pressure he feels.

To ensure his family's safety, Iman is issued a handgun by the government. However, his lack of experience with firearms becomes evident as he fails to store it securely, further jeopardizing his family's safety.

As the protests intensify, Iman's daughters, Rezvan and Sana, are increasingly drawn to the events happening around them. Their differing views lead to tensions during a family dinner, where Iman dismisses their concerns as propaganda.

The family's situation worsens when Sadaf, a friend of Rezvan's, is shot during a protest. Rezvan and Sana assist her with first aid in secret, deciding to hide the incident from Iman to protect him from further distress.

Amidst rising suspicions, Iman's handgun goes missing, causing him to suspect his wife and daughters. In a fit of paranoia, he interrogates them with the help of his colleague Alireza, feeling unsafe within his own home.

After Iman's personal information is exposed online, he decides to take his family to his childhood home in the mountains for safety. Before leaving, a colleague provides him with an extra gun for added protection.

While driving to his childhood home, Iman's family is recognized by another couple, leading to a tense car chase. In a moment of desperation, Iman runs them off the road and confronts them with his new gun.

During the chaos outside the car, Sana reveals to Rezvan that she has taken Iman's original gun and hidden it. This revelation adds another layer of danger to the already precarious family situation.

Upon reaching the mountains, Iman puts his wife and daughters on trial, demanding confessions about the missing gun. As tensions rise, Rezvan falsely admits to hiding it to protect her mother and sister from Iman's wrath.

Iman reacts to Rezvan's confession by locking both her and Najmeh up. Meanwhile, Sana manages to escape with the gun, ultimately locking Iman in a shed as she frees her mother and sister.

In the final standoff, Iman and Sana aim their guns at each other, representing the culmination of the generational conflict within the family. As the ground beneath Iman gives way, he falls, leaving his fate uncertain.

The film concludes with footage from mobile phones depicting the bloody protests in Tehran. This serves as a stark reminder of the struggles outside of Iman's family drama, connecting their personal turmoil to the broader societal conflict.
