Reporter Kirioka, played by Koji Tsuruta, teams up with his childhood friend Detective Kobayashi, played by Akihiko Hirata, and the police led by Captain Onosaki, played by Yoshio Tsuchiya, as a brutal stabbing at an amusement park sets off a tense investigation. The crime scene at the Cave of Horrors yields a gold-plated dog tag, a note inviting the victim to meet there, and a fragment of Cryotron transistor wire, all clues that point away from a random killing and toward a calculated, planned conspiracy. As the trio pieces together these strands, they trace connections to a Military-Land Cabaret and its wary owner, Onishi, a man who seems to know more than he should about the dead man and the shadowy activities surrounding him. Onishi, boss of the cabaret, is portrayed by [Seizaburô Kawazu], and his presence in the case marks a growing pattern of military echoes intersecting with civilian crime.

The investigative thread widens as clues reveal a deeper past: fourteen years earlier, Onishi, the victim, an intelligence agent named Takashi, and Construction Corp. foreman Taki were soldiers assigned to safeguard the top-secret experiments of a scientist and electrical engineer, Dr. Nikki. The quartet, however, misused their authority to smuggle stolen gold, drawing the ire of Lance Corporal Sudo, who insisted the gold belonged to Japan’s people. The investigation hints at a fatal confrontation in which Sudo and Nikki were believed dead, their bodies and the gold supposedly destroyed in a cave when dynamite blew it apart. Yet the past refuses to stay buried, because when the investigators revisit the site they find that the supposed deaths did not resolve the matter—the gold is gone, and the bones have vanished with it, leaving only questions and a chilling sense of unfinished business.

As the case unfolds, a new truth emerges: Sudo and Nikki did not perish. They had gone into hiding on a remote farm, where Nikki made a breakthrough that would change the game—the development of a teleportation device capable of moving matter in seconds from one place to another. Nikki’s work remains a thorn in the side of the police, but the more unsettling fact is that Sudo had used this technology to dodge capture for years, turning his craft into a personal weapon. He sends his victims a death sentence in the form of an audio tape or note, accompanied by a ritual of the killer’s choosing—often a stabbing with a bayonet that channels Sudo’s cold resolve. The pursuit now centers on the farm, where the scientists’ machines hum with ominous potential and the killer’s reach seems to extend beyond the ordinary bounds of law enforcement.

The pursuit reaches a crucial moment when Kirioka, Kobayashi, and Onosaki close in on Nikki and his aberrant invention. The police manage to locate Nikki and the devices, yet they struggle to connect the dots with definitive proof of Sudo’s guilt, leaving the killer’s precise role in the carnage to hang in the balance. Meanwhile, the case takes a distressed turn as Taki is killed while in police custody, and Onishi retreats to a quiet coastal village, evading direct confrontation. Sudo, not content to stay hidden, transmits a signal that allows him to push his power even further, attempting to complete his grim scheme by leveraging the transmitter to trigger a deadly teleportation-enabled assault. The chase intensifies as the transmitter is recovered and used to move Sudo across space in a literal sense, a maneuver that momentarily places him ahead of the law.

Yet the final act is a collision of advance and fragility. Tremors from the machinery’s destabilized systems threaten the teleportation setup, damaging the receiver and erasing Sudo’s ability to slip away. The culmination is both clinical and haunting: the killer dissolves into oblivion as the tremors take their toll, marking the end of a long, carefully calculated vendetta. The narrative threads—crime, betrayal, and the ethical peril of unregulated discovery—linger as the case closes, leaving behind a cautionary tale about power, loyalty, and the cost of technological ambition.
