The Prophecy 3: The Ascent

Danyael Rosales preaches on a city street, convinced that God still cares for people despite the pain in his life. During the sermon, a blind assassin fires at him, but the crowd blocks the blow and the attacker retreats before delivering a fatal strike. An unseen force later compels the would-be killer to commit suicide, signaling a supernatural turn in Danyael's fate.

Zophael closes in on Danyael, wielding a blade that can morph into a three-pronged hook. Danyael is protected by Gabriel, a once-fallen angel who has spent years as a human after his punishment.

Gabriel's past is revealed: he killed Danyael's father and committed other misdeeds before being turned human as punishment. Having lived on Earth for years, he now contemplates the wrongs of his former life as he guards Danyael.

Zophael manipulates Maggie, Danyael's girlfriend, into helping stop him. Skeptical at first, Maggie shoots Zophael and then confronts the reality of the angel's true nature.

Despite fear, Maggie agrees to work with Zophael to stop Danyael. The unlikely pair catch up to Danyael on a Native American reservation, closing the gap as the pursuit intensifies.

Mary, a Native American woman who appears in the first film as a child, tells Danyael she dreamed of his coming and believes he will triumph. Her prophecy reinforces his resolve as he heads toward the looming confrontation with Pyriel.

Zophael crashes Maggie's truck on purpose, badly injuring her and forcing a detour in the chase. Despite the setback, Danyael presses forward toward Pyriel as Maggie and Zophael close in.

Danyael and Zophael clash, and for a moment Danyael seems to gain the upper hand, mortally wounding the angel with a motorcycle tailpipe. Zophael stubbornly rises again and resumes the fight, turning the duel in his favor.

Zophael delivers a brutal counterattack, impaling Danyael from behind with his weapon. Maggie fires her gun into Zophael, buying time for Danyael to recover and continue the battle.

With an opening created by the earlier wound, Danyael seizes Zophael's heart and kills him. The immediate threat from Zophael is ended, paving the way toward Pyriel.

Danyael heads toward Pyriel's domain, armed with Zophael's weapon. Although outmatched, he manages to impale Pyriel with the same weapon during their fierce clash.

God sends a lightning bolt that disables the weapon and defeats Pyriel. Danyael extends the blade into its prong form and removes Pyriel's heart, seemingly ending the war in Heaven.

Gabriel, now redeemed and with his powers restored, regains his angelic status. He heals Maggie's wounds and then returns to Heaven with Danyael, signaling the war's end and the hero's triumph.
