Following the events of 9/11, writer Michael Shulan’s life changed dramatically when he created "Here Is New York," a photography exhibit in Soho that became a symbol of hope and resilience. Later, as Creative Director of the National 9/11 Museum at Ground Zero, Shulan envisioned a collaborative space, but faced unexpected resistance and navigated the challenges of balancing artistic vision with bureaucratic realities. His experiences highlight the complexities of memorialization and the power of community in the face of tragedy.
