The Little Orphan

Jerry is lounging with cheese when the doorbell rings and he discovers Nibbles at the doorstep. A note pinned to Nibbles' scarf reveals he is the Thanksgiving guest Jerry promised to host and hints at his constant hunger. Jerry reluctantly welcomes the tiny intruder, setting the stage for an uneasy holiday.

Jerry guides Nibbles to a milk bowl placed in front of Tom, who snoozes nearby. Nibbles slurps loudly, waking Tom, but Jerry hides him just in time so the cat doesn't spot the intruder. The milk bowl is soon emptied, foreshadowing more mischief to come.

Mammy Two Shoes brings in a large turkey and places it on the already laden table. The mice scamper onto the table and begin sampling all kinds of food, with Nibbles eagerly tasting everything. Jerry and Nibbles improvise pilgrim outfits from table decorations, adding to the holiday chaos.

Nibbles swallows a whole orange, swelling comically and triggering laughter. Jerry whacks Nibbles on the back of the head, sending the orange flying into Tom's mouth and waking the cat. Tom glowers at the mice, ready to reclaim his feast.

Tom wears a feather duster as camouflage and then sports a Native American headdress to intimidate Nibbles. Nibbles brandishes a toy blunderbuss and taunts Tom, keeping a wary distance on the edge of the feast. Jerry dives into the distraction, escalating the confrontation into a chaotic standoff.

Tom lunges at Jerry, but Nibbles, armed with a fork, jab-chops Tom in the hindquarters, sending him off balance. Jerry retaliates with a big spoon strike, slamming Tom in the face and knocking him back. The table erupts into a chaotic skirmish as dishes and tableware fly.

Tom lights cattails on the table one by one, turning the feast into a dangerous obstacle course. The flames threaten the mice's hiding places under domes and among bowls. In a flash, Jerry lifts a serving dome to reverse the flames back toward Tom, buying a moment of relief for the trio.

Tom hurls a knife into the turkey, aiming to trap the mice. Jerry darts toward safety but accidentally runs into the knife’s blunt edge, knocking himself out. Seizing the moment, Nibbles intensifies his assault with improvised tactics that promise even more chaos.

Nibbles bends a knife handle to launch a pie at Tom, turning the kitchen into a pastry barrage. He uses a string between the turkey's legs to slingshot a candle onto Tom's tail, burning him up to a crisp. A cork pops from a champagne bottle and rockets at Tom, hitting him and sending him crashing into a cabinet, destroying it and the dishes inside.

Defeated and singed, Tom waves a white surrender flag from under the pile of broken dishes. The chaos subsides as the mice and cat reassess their positions, and the guests settle into a fragile truce. The Thanksgiving moment settles into uneasy peace.

Jerry says grace over the still-fractured feast, inviting Tom to join. Just as they reach for their cutlery, Nibbles devours the entire turkey, leaving nothing but bones on the plate. Sated and content, Nibbles pats his swollen stomach while the trio ends Thanksgiving in unlikely harmony.
