Jerry is lounging with cheese when the doorbell rings and he discovers Nibbles at the doorstep. A note pinned to Nibbles' scarf reveals he is the Thanksgiving guest Jerry promised to host and hints at his constant hunger. Jerry reluctantly welcomes the tiny intruder, setting the stage for an uneasy holiday.

Milk trap and near discovery

Jerry guides Nibbles to a milk bowl placed in front of Tom, who snoozes nearby. Nibbles slurps loudly, waking Tom, but Jerry hides him just in time so the cat doesn't spot the intruder. The milk bowl is soon emptied, foreshadowing more mischief to come.
