   Master Dasong and his Liushui Guild Hall members are ambushed by human soldiers equipped with advanced weaponry. During the fray, Dasong confronts an old acquaintance but is ultimately slain, setting off a chain of events that will impact the balance between yaojing and humans.

   Life in Training

   Two years after the attack, Xiaohei is living with Wuxian, where he practices his metal manipulation skills and studies Mandarin. They enjoy traveling together, but their peaceful life is interrupted when they receive a summons to the Main Hall.

   Upon arriving at the Main Hall, Wuxian and Xiaohei meet with the elders who question Wuxian about the recent attack on Liushui Guild Hall. They present evidence linking Wuxian to the attack, exacerbating the tensions between humans and yaojing.
