The Last Warrior: Root of Evil

The campaign is launched in Ancient Rus with Finist—the Clear Falcon—leading the heroes. He uses his strength to tease Vanya, who lacks heroic power, setting up rivalry within the squad. The opening scenes establish the dynamic between Finist, Ivan, and Vasilisa.

The monster attacking village cattle is revealed to be Kolobok. The heroes pursue and capture him, ending the immediate threat to the village. This victory reinforces Ivan's leadership and the group's resolve.

Ivan returns to his high-tech mansion, reflecting his longing for a life in modern Moscow. He dreams of moving there with Vasilisa, but she does not approve of this idea. The treasure sword fuels his yearning and sharpens the contrast between old and new worlds.

Before the obstacle course, Ivan attempts to cross to Moscow, but the treasure sword's power dries up and the portal fails to open. The setback forces him to rely on cunning rather than brute strength. This moment raises the stakes for the Belogorye competition to come.

Belogorye hosts a hero competition. All participants fail except Finist; Ivan completes the course using ingenuity and resourcefulness. Finist's ongoing presence keeps the rivalry intense and motivates Ivan to prove himself.

Varvara and Galina arrive during the celebration to seize the treasure sword from Ivan. They bewitch the heroes and unleash living roots across the village, gaining the upper hand. The older team, joined by Finist and Kolobok, manages to escape with their lives.

An orphan girl and a peasant woman are bewitched by a witch's flower and fall under the power of a terrible creature. Baba Yaga warns that such magic is ancient and dangerous, hinting at a conflict that spans centuries. The scene connects the present danger to long-standing magical forces.

Belogor forged the treasure sword to seek immortality. His student Mikula betrayed him and became Koschey the Immortal after killing Belogor. Offended by betrayal, Belogor becomes Rogoleb, an evil root-born being seeking the sword to regain life.

Rogoleb begins turning people into his servants to search for the treasure sword. Of all those touched by his power, Galina and Varvara survive long enough to remember the legends. Rogoleb's reach grows as he aims to reclaim the magic that once sustained him.

To reach the land of the dead, the heroes ride a whale fish controlled by a person with heroic strength, a role Finist fulfills. Ivan steals Baba Yaga's power berry, using it to pretend he has real heroic strength. The excursion tests the limits of power and pretended prowess.

Vanya deceives a guard to slip into the land of the dead and retrieves Koschei, where he also encounters Koschei's father, who was recently killed by Rogoleb. He returns with new knowledge that influences the plan to defeat Rogoleb.

Koschei explains that Rogoleb can be slain by cutting the stone under which he was buried with a treasure chest. On the way back to Belogorye, Ivan exhausts the berry supply and realizes the treasure has lost its magical power. A rest stop briefly restores the magic, rekindling hope.

At dawn Varvara returns with her army and inflicts a mortal wound on Finist. Ivan has run out of amplifiers and the group is forced to flee, leaving the sword with Varvara. The others hurry to Belogorye to rescue Finist with the aid of living water.

Ivan, Kolobok, and Chudo-Yudo confront Rogoleb in a climactic battle while the others pursue the fight to rescue Finist. Kolobok devours Varvara, who had taken owl form, turning the tide. Rogoleb is banished as Ivan sends him to modern Moscow, where he perishes and the buried friends are freed.

Svetozar drives away and pursues Galina, while Ivan proposes to Vasilisa. The post-credits scenes reveal Galina seeking power from the Great Darkness, and flashbacks hint that Ilya Muromets lived with his wife Galya, the mother of Varvara and Ivan, foreshadowing a sequel.
