The Last: Naruto the Movie

Two years after the peace forged in the aftermath of the Fourth Ninja World War, the Sixth Hokage Kakashi Hatake is alarmed to discover that the moon is on a collision course with Earth. This impending disaster is orchestrated by the sinister Toneri Otsutsuki, a descendant of the Sage of Six Paths’ twin brother, Hamura Otsutsuki. Toneri is set on fulfilling Hamura’s ancient promise to judge humanity for its long-standing distortion of the Sage’s teachings into ninjutsu. During the Rinne Festival, Hinata Hyuga diligently knits a red scarf reminiscent of the one Naruto wore during their first encounter, with Sakura Haruno lending her support. As gifts pour in for Naruto, including another scarf, Hinata grapples with insecurity regarding her feelings.

In a shocking turn of events, Toneri stealthily infiltrates the Hidden Leaf Village to capture Hinata, only to end up abducting her younger sister, Hanabi, when Naruto intervenes. Determined to rescue Hanabi, Kakashi dispatches Naruto, Hinata, Sakura, Sai, and Shikamaru Nara on a perilous mission. In the ruins of an abandoned village belonging to the Otsutsuki Clan, Naruto experiences the essence of romantic love through a series of visions featuring Hinata’s memories, expanding his understanding of their bond.

The truth unfolds as it is revealed that the Hyuga Clan descends from Hamura’s lineage that remained on Earth. Toneri, in a desperate bid for power, has taken Hanabi’s eyes to obtain the formidable Tenseigan—a mystical eye derived from his ancestors. In a painful twist, Hinata agrees to Toneri’s proposal to save Hanabi, shattering Naruto’s heart as she leaves with their foe.

While chaos erupts on Earth as villagers fend off meteorites from the moon, Sasuke Uchiha returns to lend his strength. After recovering for three days, Sakura reassures Naruto of Hinata’s feelings for him, and they collectively approach Toneri’s castle. Hamura’s spirit reaches out to Hinata, urging her to reclaim her rightful place as the Byakugan Princess, as Toneri has fundamentally misunderstood Hamura’s decree. Ignoring Hinata’s plea, Toneri ruins the scarf and manipulates her mind.

In a valiant assault on Toneri’s stronghold, Sakura and Sai manage to secure Hanabi, while Shikamaru valiantly battles Toneri’s puppets. Naruto ultimately rescues Hinata, thwarting her resistance against Toneri’s ambitions to wield the Tenseigan. As Toneri gains the power of the Tenseigan and tears the moon in two, Naruto confronts him in battle. With Hinata’s assistance, Naruto prevails, restoring the moon’s orbit through the fusion of their chakra.

In a moment of redemption, Naruto spares Toneri, leading the latter to recognize the truth behind Hamura’s decree. Choosing to remain on the moon for atonement, Toneri relinquishes Hanabi’s eyes back to Hinata. Sharing a poignant moment, Naruto reveals that the scarf he wore earlier belonged to his late mother, leading to an emotional exchange where he and Hinata profess their love and share their first kiss beneath the moonlight.

Years later, the narrative culminates in the blissful union of Naruto and Hinata, celebrated with friends as they embark on their journey of parenthood with two children, Boruto Uzumaki and Himawari Uzumaki.
