The Land Before Time II: The Great Valley Adventure

Littlefoot, Cera, Ducky, Petrie and Spike live carefree under their families' watch. One day they stumble into sinking sand near the sheltering grass, and their adults rush to pull them out while scolding them for recklessness. The incident establishes the dangers outside the valley and the importance of listening to the elders.

That night the kids hold a private gathering and discuss proving their bravery and maturity. They decide to venture into the Mysterious Beyond, a place outside the Valley inhabited by Sharpteeth. They vow to return with news of what lies beyond.

Before they depart, the children witness Ozzy and Strut stealing an egg from Ducky's nest. They give chase into the Mysterious Beyond to recover it. The act foreshadows danger but motivates the group to venture outward.

The group pursues the intruders into the Mysterious Beyond during a thunderstorm. They push forward despite danger, determined to retrieve the egg and prove themselves. The storm adds peril to their fledgling adventure.

A violent thunderstorm triggers a landslide that damages the Great Wall surrounding the Valley. The stolen egg rolls back toward Ducky's nest in the confusion, but the group does not notice its return. The valley's protection is weakened just as they cross into the Beyond.

In the Beyond, the group discovers a larger egg and brings it into the Valley, mistaking it for the original. They fail to realize it belongs to another nest. This mistake sets up future consequences for all.

The egg hatches, revealing a baby Sharptooth named Chomper. Although the others are frightened, Littlefoot chooses to raise him as his own. The group begins the challenge of caring for an herbivorous friend who is not yet safe.

The group gradually accepts Chomper, but he bites Cera by mistake. The knee-jerk reaction prompts Chomper to run away in tears. The incident foreshadows the complexity of friendship with a predator.

Chomper's presence is still unsettled when Ozzy and Strut return to attack. A volcanic eruption from a nearby mountain sends them fleeing by tumbling into a canyon. The threat from within the valley grows more dangerous.

Two adult Sharpteeth manage to slip into the Great Valley through a breach in the Great Wall. The valley's inhabitants rally and drive the intruders off to protect their home. This confirms the need for a permanent fix to the wall.

After the chaos, Littlefoot ventures into the forest to search for Chomper. They are chased by the two Sharpteeth, and Chomper roars to reveal his protective nature. Chomper's parents appear, guiding and guarding him.

Chomper's parents rescue Chomper and Littlefoot from Ozzy and Strut, and lead them back toward the Mysterious Beyond. Their appearance confirms the parents' bond, and they take Chomper away to join their family.

With Chomper safe with his parents, Littlefoot returns to the Valley and helps the adults seal the opening between the Valley and the Mysterious Beyond. The community works together to secure their home.

Littlefoot reflects that being young has its joys and limits, recognizing growth is coming. He shares with his grandparents that growing up may be challenging but worthwhile. He looks forward to the future with courage.
