Inspired by the 1982 Roberto Calvi affair, the film follows Alan, a homeless man in Northern England who loses his wife and job. While sleeping in an abandoned building he witnesses the murder of a high‑profile businessman. The killers realize he saw them, and one even heads the police investigation. To stay alive, Alan teams up with American journalist Billie Hayman, urging her to expose the truth.
