The Forsyte Saga, a 1967 BBC adaptation of John Galsworthy’s novels and the sequel trilogy A Modern Comedy, follows the fortunes of the Forsyte family. Eric Porter stars as Soames, Kenneth More as Young Jolyon and Nyree Dawn Porter as Irene. Produced by Donald Wilson, it ran in 26 Saturday episodes on BBC2 in 1967, with a BBC1 repeat that drew 18 million viewers.
