In 2004, Jule, a waitress, finds herself deeply in debt due to a €100,000 accident she caused when she collided with a luxury Mercedes-Benz owned by businessman Hardenberg. This financial burden leads to her eviction, forcing her to seek refuge with her boyfriend Peter and his friend Jan.

While Peter is away in Barcelona, Jan reveals to Jule their unique form of anti-capitalist activism, which involves breaking into the homes of the wealthy. They leave behind messages critiquing the upper class, such as 'the days of plenty are over,' which piques Jule's interest in their radical approach.

Intrigued by Jan's description of their activities, Jule persuades him to break into Hardenberg's house while he is away. The thrill of their audacious act leads to an unexpected kiss between Jule and Jan, complicating their relationship dynamics.

While trying to escape after their break-in, Jule unintentionally triggers floodlights, which send them fleeing from the scene. The adrenaline rush of the night’s escapades leaves both Jan and Jule with a sense of exhilaration, but they keep their secret from Peter.

The next day, Jule realizes her phone is missing, prompting her and Jan to return to Hardenberg's home under the cover of night. Their search for the phone spirals out of control when they unexpectedly confront Hardenberg, leading to a physical struggle.

During their confrontation with Hardenberg, Jan intervenes heroically, knocking him unconscious with a flashlight. Faced with the implications of this act, the trio decides to transport Hardenberg to a secluded cabin owned by Jule's uncle in the Austrian Alps.

In the serene setting of the Austrian Alps, the trio discusses their next course of action while grappling with the reality of their situation. They learn about Hardenberg's radical past as a leader in the Socialist German Student Union, which shifts their perspective on their captive.

As the group contemplates their actions, the dynamics between Jule, Peter, and Jan evolve. Peter begins to notice Jan’s growing feelings for Jule, creating tension within their partnership as they navigate their respective emotions.
