Why these movies?
The story pattern: The narrative typically begins with a detailed criminal plan that immediately goes awry, often due to a case of mistaken identity that pulls an innocent bystander into the center of the action. The plot is driven by a series of escalating, slapstick attempts by the flustered criminals to regain control, while the hapless hero remains largely oblivious, accidentally thwarting the scheme at every turn.
Why they belong together: Movies in this thread are grouped by their shared focus on farce over genuine threat. They feature a light tone, fast pacing fueled by constant mishaps, and a core structure where the humor stems from the criminals' failures rather than the hero's brilliance, creating a consistently playful and mischievous mood.
