The day Prince Tsoi visits the temple, Shao Hai spots masked rebel assassins preparing to strike. He shouts a warning to the Prince, saving him from the attack. The guards spring into action and drive the intruders away, and the Prince expresses gratitude to Shao Hai.

The Prince pretends to reward him, but the gesture goes to Shao Hai's head. He starts believing he has real influence and begins alienating those around him. Tensions rise as his pride clouds his judgment and trust begins to erode.

Shao Hai's Uncle reveals that the Prince practices Lohan Fist and urges Shao Hai to learn more by becoming his pupil. He convinces Shao Hai to ask the Prince to teach him the form, promising it will reveal the prince's loyalties. This plan sets Shao Hai on a path that blurs loyalty and rebellion.
