The Brave Little Toaster

In a cabin, five midcentury appliances realize that Rob has not returned and the cottage is about to be sold. They refer to him as the Master and decide to venture out to find him, driven by loyalty and memories of family vacations. They prepare to leave the cabin to begin the search.

They attach a rolling office chair, a power strip, and a car battery to Kirby, turning the vacuum into a makeshift vehicle. The improvised craft carries them toward the city as they leave the quiet cabin behind. The journey marks the start of their perilous adventure.

As darkness falls and a hurricane roars, Blanky becomes a tent and the storm knocks him into the trees. Lampy uses himself as a lightning rod to recharge the battery, keeping the group going. They cling to hope as the road ahead remains dangerous.

The group attempts to cross a waterfall, but everyone except Kirby falls into the murky water. Kirby dives in to pull his friends to safety, though the chair, power strip, and battery are lost. The survivors drag Kirby through a swamp, braced for the challenges ahead.

In the swamp, the appliances are saved by Elmo St. Peters, who takes them to his appliance parts store. The hopeful escape hints at a possible ally who can help them reach Rob. They prepare to face whatever comes next on the journey.

At the store, St. Peters plans to extract Radio's vacuum tubes for resale. The appliances frighten him by pretending to be a ghost, causing him to knock himself unconscious. They escape from the store, leaving the threat behind.

Rob, now a young adult, travels to the cottage with his girlfriend Chris to retrieve the five appliances for college. They hope to bring the familiar helpers with them and preserve memories of the family's old tech. Their mission sets the stage for a future reunion at Rob's apartment.

Back at Rob's apartment, Rob's newer appliances resent the five older ones and throw the group into a dumpster. The five appliances endure rejection by Rob's modern devices and must find a way to reconnect. The friends back at the apartment steel themselves for a risky rescue.

An old television in the apartment, a friend of the cottage appliances, broadcasts fictional advertisements for the junkyard where the five appliances have been taken. The ads persuade Rob and Chris to go to the junkyard to retrieve them. Hope returns as they set out for the salvage yard.

At the junkyard, the appliances despair, then are lifted by a large electromagnet and nearly crushed. Rob arrives in time and the magnet traps them on a conveyor belt headed for the crusher. The tense moment tests their resolve and Rob's determination to save them.

On the belt, Toaster is separated and leaps into the crusher's gears, stopping the machine just before it would flatten Rob and the others. He is badly mangled in the process, leaving the others to grieve yet grateful for his sacrifice. Rob resolves to repair him.

Back at the apartment, Rob repairs Toaster and leads the five appliances to college. They depart together, bound for a new chapter while keeping the memories of family and friendship. The film ends with the unlikely crew heading to campus together, bonded by shared trials.
