The Abandon

The film begins on a battlefield where Miles Willis loses his comrades in combat. Severely wounded by a gunshot to his gut, Miles retreats from the chaos, sensing that he cannot face the enemy alone. He rests nearby, believing he is close to death while suffering intense pain.

As Miles struggles on the battlefield, an air strike occurs, illuminating the area with a bright flash. Miles is momentarily blinded and disoriented by the explosion, which marks a sudden shift in his situation. When he regains consciousness, he finds himself inside a strange, box-shaped room.

Inside the room, Miles believes he is being kept there temporarily but soon realizes he is alone and trapped. He attempts to call for help but receives no response, prompting him to try patching his bullet wound to stop the bleeding and to understand his environment better.

Miles notices that messages appear on the wall written by an invisible force. The room exhibits bizarre behavior, such as drastic temperature changes and rotation, which causes Miles and his belongings to be thrown around. These phenomena make him suspect the room is designed to torment him.

The room's rotation transports Miles to different floors, and he finds some of his belongings including a satellite phone. Attempts to communicate are thwarted by the walls blocking signals. Despite the difficulties, he manages to establish a connection with someone outside, but the signal remains unstable.

Miles receives a call on his satellite phone from Damsey, a woman stuck in the same situation. She explains how her number was written on her wall, enabling her to contact him. They begin to communicate and share their personal backgrounds, including Damsey's abuse and Miles's traumatic childhood.

As Miles and Damsey talk, they reveal their painful pasts—Damsey about her abuse and Miles about his childhood with a violent father. Their conversation provides emotional depth, and Damsey offers comfort, trying to cope with the mental torment inflicted by their environment.

Through their conversations, Miles and Damsey deduce that their captors can manipulate time and exist across different eras. Damsey from 2020 and Miles from 1991 recognize that their surroundings are a product of advanced beings studying human behavior through traumatic scenarios.

A math problem appears on the wall, which Miles and Damsey work on solving with their combined skills. They realize that solving this equation might allow them to escape, as it relates to the fourth-dimensional universe. A mysterious caller warns them about the danger of revealing the solution.

As the walls begin to spin faster and sink, Miles and Damsey race to find the solution. Damsey suggests that unity among humans is key, and through their collaboration, they manage to solve the math problem, which is the number 1, symbolizing human solidarity.

Upon solving the equation, the walls suddenly vanish, and Miles finds himself in a higher, fourth-dimensional space where he can see other entities and beings. This moment signifies their potential escape and awareness of a larger cosmic reality.

Miles wakes up back where he initially lost consciousness, just moments before the room appeared. He observes the army preparing for an airstrike and notices a strange large structure in the sky, suggesting that the beings from the fourth dimension have now arrived or begun their intervention on Earth.

The film closes with the implication that advanced beings have come to Earth to observe and possibly control humanity, seeing the collective strength of humans in crisis as a decisive factor. The presence of these beings hints at a larger cosmic confrontation over Earth’s future.
