The 3 Wise Men

Jimmy, a boy disillusioned with Christmas, visits his Uncle Alfredo at his shop. Alfredo begins recounting the Nativity Story from a different point of view, presenting the tale as a lived experience rather than a sermon. The modern framing sets the stage for the magical events that follow.

In ancient Judea, Herod the Great and his adviser Belial search for the Royal Treasures: gold, frankincense, and myrrh. Their quest is driven by power and fear of the coming prophecy. This pursuit mirrors the Magi's journey that follows.

Three Magi Baltasar, Gaspar, and Melchor set out after the Star of Bethlehem, certain it will lead them to the King of Kings. Melchor hopes the journey will reveal a Valley of Gold as well. The Star's light guides their path as they travel.

They cross paths in a small village, where they save the villagers from bandits and rescue a young revolutionist named Sara, who decides to join them on the journey. Her presence strengthens their resolve and adds new purpose to the mission. The villagers honor their aid as they depart.

Herod and Belial learn of the Magi's quest and dispatch Tobías, son of the late general Jason, to spy on them. Tobías's shifting loyalties become a key thread as the story progresses.

The Magi visit Herod in Judea, and he asks them to return when they find the child so he can kill him. Baruch, one of Herod's advisers, reveals their destiny: to locate the royal treasures and present them to the newborn Jesus, warning them about Herod's scheme.

The trio is chased by palace guards, forcing them to escape. Tobías helps them escape and is wounded. They allow him to accompany them toward the City of Salt along the Dead Sea.

Belial has Tobías lure them to Black Crow Canyon, testing their resolve with his spells. The Magi manage to escape his enchantments and continue their trek.

During the journey, Sara and Tobías stumble upon a slavery mine. Sara reveals that Herod ordered the villagers and one of his generals executed for offering sanctuary. She is bitten by a scorpion and falls ill as the dangers of their world close in.

The Magi reach the Temple of Ashta and are put to a series of tests. Each Magus passes and receives a treasure, reflecting their character and the journey's demands.

Herod's forces arrive as the moon blocks out the sun; Belial transforms into a gigantic monster. The Magi manage to defeat him by destroying the enchanted moon, blinding Belial as he falls.

After the climactic battle, Herod is defeated and the Magi offer the treasures to the newborn Jesus in Bethlehem. Melchior punishes Herod with coal as a final rebuke.

Back in the present, the Three Wise Men visit Jimmy, bridging the ancient tale with his modern life. They remind him that wonder can be found in Christmas anew.

The Wise Men gift Jimmy Aristobulus, Sara's kangaroo rat, linking the ancient tale to his world and renewing his sense of Christmas.
